Business Operations and Intelligence Analyst

JazzHR is looking for an analytical Business Operations and Intelligence Analyst to help drive company operations and strategy across business functions. This role is a mix of using data and analytics to identify key trends, issues, and opportunities along with working to implement changes in business strategy and operations in order to address those trends and findings.

The ideal candidate will have the analytical chops to help develop operational strategy and identify opportunities for operational improvements but who has the business acumen and project management skills to get things done. A core component of the role will be to work largely in Periscope, our BI tool, to create various looks and dashboards to support teams across JazzHR by providing data-driven insights, but the role will also require deep use of Excel to conduct in-depth one-time analyses. This position requires outstanding analytic and communication skills, the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of colleagues, experience prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment, and the tenacity to execute against deliverables in a timely, high-quality fashion.

What you'll be doing:

  • Partner closely with business functions to develop actionable, measurable projects and programs that accelerate growth and improve front-line employee effectiveness
  • Build a high working competency of company operational value chain context in order to influence department leaders to accomplish their objectives
  • Build a strong internal network of experts and resources that can help drive effective change
  • Develop strategies and systems to automate core business functions.
  • Support various team initiatives on an ad-hoc basis by fielding requests for reports and dashboards, provide advice and insight along with the data.
  • Lead and own the setup of cross-functional company reporting, dashboards, and analysis based on an in-depth understanding of the business model, operations, product and company KPIs.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders, such as Finance, Sales, and Customer Success, to ensure that data is accessible and metrics are well-defined
  • Design SQL queries and data visualizations that deliver insightful metrics to internal customers
  • Lead management of our Business Intelligence tool (Periscope), developing and implementing new metrics to support business initiatives
  • Prepare executive-level financial reporting, summarizing findings and recommendations
  • Identify and interpret patterns and trends in datasets to attribute key business drivers; turn findings into actionable recommendations to influence key stakeholders
  • Develop needle-moving hypotheses and conduct data-driven experiments to validate or invalidate hypotheses
  • Support the Executive team in their decision making by developing data-driven analyses
  • Maintain and assist in data model documentation, data dictionary, and other MDMData Governance documentation
  • Design and implement automated data quality checks and processes

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience working with non-technical users to understand business problems and map abstract problems to data that can be used to solve them
  • 3+ years of experience in SQL
  • Experience generating internal customer-facing reports (ideally using Periscope)
  • Experience with Salesforce, MySQL and redshift preferred
  • Experience in other programming languages (R, Python, etc.) preferred
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated skills in developing metrics and applying analytics to successful problem solving and performance monitoring.
  • Proven ability to develop operating frameworks and employ creative strategies for problem-solving that lead to improvements in efficiency and effectiveness
  • Strong relationship building and influence skills; you must be effective at partnering with and earning the trust of your coworkers to gain buy-in on the path forward.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply effective change management principles and consider the human element of change.
  • Experience with ETL tools a plus
